LEGO Pirate Costume

Thank you for your advice for our costumes! Myself and my mate spent a week or so making five costumes for the Hong Kong 7s which is a big rugby festival. Our costumes were very well received and we had great fun in them! Unfortunately due to Hong Kong security staff thinking that a couple of the costumes were a safety hazard two of the guys were unable to wear theirs. On top of that the boisterous nature of the event all the costumes ended up destroyed ha! I have attached a picture of three of the costumes in the stadium! You have R-Kelly, Jimmy Savile (who was a famous entertainer in the UK) and the Pope from left to right.

LEGO Batman – Construction

Last year we found your costumes online, and decided
to create our own modelled after yours. We purchased the plans from
you guys, and built the chef, cop and money man modelled after your
costumes, as well as myself making the bank robber, after a minifig i
found online. We entered the costume contest at the George Street
Mardi Gras in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada last year, and we came
2nd place, winning $2500. (Can check out more pics from 2011 and 2012
on the George Street Associations facebook page)

This year, we decided to redo our costumes from last year, settling on
doing Lego Batman characters. We chose to do the Batman, Robin
(myself), and Two Face video game versions, as well as the new Bane
minifig version that is based on The Dark Knight Rises. Again, we
entered the George Steet Mardi Gras compitition, and again won 2nd
place, $2500.

Anyways, we just wanted to share our costumes with you guys, and say
thank you for inspiring us to create our costumes. We had a blast
making them, and even more wearing them. They were such a hit, I
wouldn’t be able to say how many pictures we got over the two years.
We were such a hit, many people told us after they were dissapointed
that we didnt win. Thanks again

Thanks for all the info on doing this. Costumes are for the kids so I
skipped the lower body to make it easier for them to navigate around the
school. Maybe next year.

Hello,

I just wanted to email you guys some pictures of a Lego Ref that I made for this years Halloween, although I did not buy the plans from your site (on a budget, sorry), your website gave me the idea and deserves full credit for all of these lego costumes spawning up all over the place.

I am the Head Ref for the orange county roller girls, and I wore this costume at a baby bout (newer skaters) that we had over the weekend. The costume went down fantastic (with the unfortunate side effect that the kids flocked around it too).

I also wanted to give you a heads up (maybe to include in your plan notes) that for a time saver, Michaels sells 15 7/8ths foam “wreaths” which are about 2inches thick and have a nice radius on one face. They also have 11 inch wreaths and circular sheets and blocks of various sizes. Using all of these I made the head out of partially pre-fabricated pieces, it probably shaved two nights of polystyrene hell from the costume process.
